8 Simple Ways To Boost Your Energy Naturally
A healthy body will naturally have more energy. Follow all or any of these 8 energy-boosting tips and say good-bye to a tired body, lethargic mind and improve your health.
- Increase your Vitamin D intake by spending time outdoors.
Sunlight increases energy and improves your mood. - Drink more water.
The most common cause of fatigue is dehydration since our bodies have to work harder to supply cells with oxygen and nourishment. Make sure you are drinking enough water daily and increase water intake during the hot summer months, after heavy workouts and when you feel fatigue setting in. I love to add lemon, grapefruit or lime essential oils to my water. Make sure they are therapeutic grade and 100% pure and it says “supplement or dietary use” on the label. - Eat more greens or have a green smoothie every day.
Greens are essential for a healthy body and have great energy-boosting benefits. I love adding different leafy greens (Kale, Spinach, Chard) or 1-2 scoops of a concentrated organic green powder to my smoothies. - Take deeper breaths.
Taking deeper inhalations and exhalations through the nose is one of the easiest yet most effective ways to increase your energy. Practice this slow and deep breathing for a few minutes and notice how your mind and body are calmer yet more energized. - Move your body.
Go for a walk, practice yoga or Pilates, or any other type of exercise that gets your body moving. According to a study in Personality and Social Psychology, a 10-minute walk can increase energy in your body for up to 2 hours.

Yoga
A yoga practice doesn’t have to take you 90 minutes in order to see benefits. My yoga practice is only 20 minutes most of the time and if my schedule allows, I can go for a longer practice.

- Reduce sugar and caffeine intake.
Caffeine and sugar can give you a temporary energy boost but soon after you can feel the energy wearing out and crashing. Instead of going for coffee or sugary drinks in the middle of the day, try sipping on some Green Tea. It will boost your energy and help you burn more calories too!
- Aromatherapy.
Apply 1 drop of Peppermint and 1 drop of Orange essential oils on your palms. Rub palms together and take a few deep breaths. This will awaken your senses, increase your energy and bring more oxygen to the brain. It’s a natural, easy and effective pick me up before/after working out and during those long working days in front of your computer. - Get some quality sleep.
Many people are suffering from insomnia or can’t find a way to stay asleep during the night. Turn off cell phone and computer. Don’t answer emails or get your mind too active. Instead, incorporate different ways to quiet your mind especially at nighttime. Try meditating, taking a warm bath, or reading a book (not on your bed. Train your mind and body to associate your bed with sleep). This will help calm the body and quiet the mind so it is ready for a restful night.
